Broken World

6/29/23

The world may be broken, but we’re not! And If it is the end, then I wouldn’t want to die all alone… I’d catch and hold onto every second and breathe in every moment soaking up time with you.

(This will be the last of the 3 debut singles that are available for free download on SoundCloud).

I’m so pleased to have my first single that’s with vocals in it! These vocals are from a Ghosthack sample pack for a producer contest that I entered into. A song that embodies a slow methodical march into the unknown with a positive undertone of defiance. The vocals are doom and gloom while the production is enveloped in hope and inspiration despite being ominous and dark.

The intro I have the vocals set back in the mix like a thought drifting in one’s mind. I didn’t want to start off the song with too much of a dark undertone, so I have a solid Dossas intro that has a beautiful guitar part and some nice orchestral elements with modern sound effects. Once that buildup starts, I wanted the first clear thing to be the first drop. The synths are powerful and symbolic of our triumphant spirits. When the vocals come back in during the breakdown, I bring back the orchestral elements and have the vocals clear. I don’t want you miss any of the words. It’s so important to set the listener into the true heavy tone of the song to prepare for the final march into drops 2. The breakdown between the drops 2 and 3 has that snare line to keep the energy driving as we approach the final 3rd drop. I wanted to hold onto and embrace every moment in the final drop. It just rings out in an ethereal landscape of beauty and grace. The final breakdown leaves us with that feeling of hope all while being troubled. I purposely ended on note that would leave some unresolved tones in our minds.

We will not fix this world without all doing the necessary work from within to heal and release the past patterns that do not serve us anymore. Let’s all push each other to be best version of themselves so that we can all thrive together. One person at a time we will build a better tomorrow.

Our reality starts with what we choose to see, so let’s choose to see the beauty in the world and choose to see the flaws in our ways of living that can change. It’s time for some more changes. In my next coming releases, I will further explore this dystopian world that we find ourselves in both emotionally and in our physical reality. Prepare for a musical odyssey that takes us to a safe space to heal and grow in. I’m so excited to be going through this journey with you!
